Partial Home Remodel Historic District – Edina, MN

“I was referred to Sandra from a business associate I have known for quite some time.  She deftly guided my husband and I through three simultaneous projects-a total basement renovation, and the remodeling of a children’s nursery to a comfortable, revitalizing, masculine home office and the conversion of an unused staircase into a very functional powder bath for the first floor of our home.

Sandra brought our 1928 Tudor into the 21st Century by converting a second stairway into a main floor powder room and mud room – two spaces that make living in Minnesota much easier. She planned details for new walls and millwork so the remodeled area integrated respectfully with the architecture of addition 20 years earlier by Sarah Susanka and Michela Mahady.  Sandra’s recommendations on floor plan modifications, paint colors, tile, carpet, wood millwork, plumbing fixtures, and lighting created two very small but highly functional spaces that look like they have always been in place.  Sandra transformed our dated and unfinished lower level into a warm, inviting space that has become a favorite gathering spot.  Her recommendations on floor plan modifications, paint colors, carpets, accessible ceiling product, lighting plan and fixtures, millwork and architectural details turned a challenging, chopped up space into a well-designed entertainment room-complete with built in speakers, hidden storage and a drop down movie screen.

We couldn’t have undertaken this three-floor remodeling project without her.  She translated our disjointed ideas into an integrated plan that added greatly to the style, livability and long-term value of our home.

She gave us options we would have never found on our own.  She stayed on top of every detail and was a delight to work with from start to finish.”
